Here you can download various files! To stream mp3 files left-click, to download them right-click and choose 'save target as'.

Compositions - mp3 s of recent tracks I've been working on.

walking east - ambient in an Indian stylee

project ritmo - a little light drum 'n' bass track

 mondial - squelchy techno

salvation (remix) - a remix of my friend Max Milligan's pop track

Movie clips

Nasa 25th Anniversary Show pt. 1 - a 30 sec clip showing spaceflight

Nasa 25th Anniversary Show pt. 2 - similar stuff, 53 secs

New American Indians - rural American landscape and people, 56 secs

Williamson reel - a Tibetan anthropology clip shot in the 1930s, 1 min 56 secs

Reason routing examples

These files are examples of how Reason can be used for production and mastering functions. The files can be adapted for your own tracks and work only in Reason 2.5.

tube compressor - recreates the sound of an analogue tube compressor.

multi-band compressor - allows compression to be applied independently to 3 separate frequency bands.

de-esser - removes unwanted sibilance from vocals.

vocoder - a simple vocoder routing with a sound file from the movie 'Scream'. It demonstrates a classic vocoder 'robot' vocal.

ping-pong delay - this demonstrates a routing to create a cool 'ping-pong' panning effect with delay units.

redrum mixer - a simple routing showing how the drum machine can be routed to its own mixer, to give greater control to redrum parameters.

mastering suite - a complex routing configuration for achieving final polish to a track. Excellent if you work only in Reason.

Hardware Manuals

Not easily available!

Roland TR-606 Drum Machine - I've compiled this from a variety of online sources. It's very similar to Roland's original. As far as I know, you can't download the original.

Texas Instruments Speak & Spell - That 'essential' piece of '80s 'talkie' hardware!

AS/A2 Music in the Age of Humanism Topic resources

I prepared the following .pdf documents for my A-level music students studying the above topic for a music history paper. I believe the option is still examined by OCR - the files are self explanatory, and there are 4 revision sheets that summarise most of the content of the other work.
